Karen Leah, Scarborough-based project manager of Digital Advantage, said: "The European-funded Digital Advantage project managed by Coventry University is delighted to be sponsoring the Digital Star category and we look forward to recognising the women who have propelled their businesses forward, while transforming themselves using the momentum of digital technologies. "Adopting the new digital ways of working alongside running a business can be a real juggling act and we’re really pleased to be able to applaud those that have maximised those opportunities and for whom embracing new digital approaches has really paid off. "For many, learning new digital skills has helped them personally as well as business-wise; improving confidence levels and unearthing creativity, so we’re really looking forward to hearing about the impact, on individuals and on those businesses which have shunted up a gear, thanks to the digital innovation of the women driving them."

Action woman Ros joins event

Action business woman Ros Jones Ros Jones Action Coach, based at Woodend in Scarborough, has joined the Star Women in Business Awards.

Shed said: "I'm honoured and delighted to be sponsoring Star Women In Business Awards 2019.

"This is a unique opportunity for our local female achievers in business to be recognised for their hard work, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. In my own business coaching business, working directly with business owners and their teams, I've found that too few women have their voices heard, which is quite alarming since we make up 51% of the population.

"I'm sure that this event will inspire more women achievers to put themselves forward, shine their light and be acknowledged."

The Star Women in Business Awards take place in April 2019 at Scarborough Spa, with Jenny Eclair as the guest speaker and an all-female top table.

It will be the biggest single gathering of female achievers in the area.

Ros is one of the hardest-working business women in Scarborough under the banner of Action Coach. We are very pleased that she has decided to support the new and unique event.

Willows Lull, a children’s charity based in Scarborough, which offers overnight and day respite for children with life-limiting, disabilities and complex needs, is the chosen beneficiary of the new Star Women in Business Awards 2019. It has qualified children’s nursing staff with support assistants to help in the child care, and wants to expand to meet the needs. Jo Parrott, Willows Lull manager, said: "Every parent expects their child to be born healthy. However can you imagine being told that your baby will always have severe health problems and will continue to need regular medical intervention and constant 24/7 care – with the real possibility of not reaching their teenage years? "These families need support and care and the child needs a home from home experience giving parents a much needed break. "The whole dynamics of the family change, parents may have to give up work, siblings feel left out and their school work and health begin to suffer. Some families have over 40 miles to travel to and around 10 appointments a week for their child." The awards, with sponsors including CU Scarborough, Asquith & Co Accountants and CPH estate agents, Asquith & Co accountants, Digital Advantage and Action Coach, takes place at Scarborough Spa.
